BR 100s band straightening machine for band saw blades
The KESEL BR-100s straightens band saw blades fully automatically with longitudinal straightness of under 0.5 mm/m. With straightening speeds of up to 40 m/min, it reduces scrap, improves band quality, and increases efficiency across the entire band saw blade production process.

Kesel’s automatic BR-100s band straightening machine was developed specifically for straightening the longitudinal camber of band saw blades. It provides an efficient process with consistently high quality—creating the ideal basis for satisfied customers. Reducing scrap also clearly demonstrates this machine’s cost efficiency.
The machine can be ordered in two versions with regard to band running direction: right to left (BR-100s R) or left to right (BR-100s L).

What sets the BR-100s apart
Roller- positioning unit
The straightening roller pairs can be adjusted manually in the horizontal direction. This allows each straightening track to be adapted to the individual band width and the tooth depth of band saw blades.
Control system
With the Siemens control system, this band straightening machine is the first representative of the S-Generation. Operation is via a 19″ touch panel with a Windows operating system.
Measuring station
The machine is equipped with two floating-mounted measuring stations. The first station determines the band curvature of the incoming band, and the second station checks the straightened band. The measurement results are displayed on the screen and can be documented. Analog dial gauges with carbide contact surfaces are used as sensors.
Coiler system
The winding direction of the coils can be selected in both directions on the pay-off and take-up coilers. Swivelling the coiler with the coils by 90° for horizontal loading and unloading is available as an option. Protective discs prevent damage to the band saw tooth set. Control and speed regulation are handled via the straightening machine’s control system. Operating elements for the functions Start, Stop, Emergency Stop, hold-down and coiler swivel (optional) are mounted directly on the respective coilers.
Loop control
Ultrasonic sensors measure the position of the band loops on both the incoming and outgoing band and regulate the coiler system speed accordingly.
Straightening roller pairs
Two hydraulically actuated straightening roller pairs form a straightening unit, which is controlled via special software. The bands are straightened in a horizontal position. This means the straightening roller pairs are arranged vertically. Straightening a flat (horizontal) steel band has the major advantage that the measurement results are not distorted by the band’s own weight.
FAQ – frequently asked questions
Yes, the BR 100s band straightening machine can straighten toothed and non-toothed material. The straightening mechanism is designed so that the toothed tips are protected at all times.
In addition to straightening material, the BR 100s band straightening machine can also create a defined curvature. This can support band saw blades where a short tooth is required.
The BR 100s band straightening machine can straighten or create curvature with a tolerance of < 0.5 mm/m.
This depends on the band material and the degree of curvature, but the maximum recommended operating speed is 40 m/min.
Very easy. The BR 100s band straightening machine was designed to be easy for the operator to use and is therefore a "Tech-In" machine. With the swivelling coiler system and the integrated learning function, the BR 100s is easy to operate and requires only minimal operator input.
Yes. Like all our machines, the BR 100s band straightening machine is equipped with an integrated system that enables remote access. This allows our team to support you directly at your system—no matter where in the world you are located.
