Non-compliance with accessibility regulations

The content listed below is not compliant with the relevant legal accessibility requirements:

Keyboard operability:
Some areas of the website are not fully operable via keyboard. This particularly affects the main navigation and modal elements such as the cart slide-out, the modal for changing products in the cart, and the size chart.
Assistive technologies:
No skip links (e.g., “Skip to main content”) have been implemented to date, making navigation with assistive technologies more difficult.
Contrast and colour communication:
The size selection on product detail pages is displayed exclusively via colours, without additional text or symbolic labelling. Custom colour settings in forms are currently not supported. In addition, not all colour combinations meet the required minimum contrast ratios.
Controls and ARIA tags:
Not all interactive elements are provided with meaningful ARIA attributes. This includes, in particular: colour selection, size selection, the logo, carousel control arrows, navigation icons, and buttons for closing modals and pop-ups.
Alternative text:
Not all embedded multimedia content has been assigned meaningful alternative text.
Animated content (e.g., GIFs):
Muted video files (e.g., GIFs) are used to convey content without providing this information in an alternative format (e.g., as text).
Checkboxes:
The size of some checkboxes is too small to be operated accessibly. Interactive elements The activation and deactivation of interactive components is currently not consistently accessible.
Filters and search function:
The structure and operability of the filter and search function do not fully meet the requirements for accessible web design. Heading structure The visual hierarchy of headings is not always correctly marked up with semantic HTML.
Browser zoom function:
The website is only usable to a limited extent when displayed at an increased size (e.g., 200%). In particular, the navigation cannot be operated accessibly in this state.
Forms:
Form elements do not consistently have the necessary accessibility attributes. Error messages are not output correctly, and feedback on password strength is not sufficiently clear.
Time-limited content:
Content with time limits, such as header banners or temporary notice boxes, cannot be paused, extended, or disabled.
Visual and technical order:
The order of content on the page does not always match the logical structure in the source code. For example, the breadcrumb navigation element on product detail pages is located in the code below the product image, even though it is displayed above it visually.

Disproportionate burden

The following content is not provided in an accessible format because doing so would result in a disproportionate burden for us:

At present, full implementation of accessibility would constitute a disproportionate burden within the meaning of Section 12a (6) BGG and Article 5 of EU Directive 2016/2102. The online shop is based on an existing technical infrastructure, and a comprehensive accessibility retrofit would involve significant personnel, financial, and organisational effort. Given that a fundamental realignment and a possible full relaunch of the shop system is currently being reviewed, immediate implementation of all required accessibility measures is not economically viable.

Of course, we are committed to achieving significantly improved accessibility with the planned rebuild of the shop.
